It’s important for parents to note, that Florence Methodist follows MinistrySafe policies to help ensure the safety of children and vulnerable adults. Please read more information on these guidelines here.
Nursery
Our loving nursery staff provides our infants and toddlers a safe environment to begin life’s journey and to learn of God’s love. Our nursery is open during all church services, and for some groups, meetings and special events. If your family has a special need, please contact our Children’s Pastor.

Preschool & Elementary Students
Sunday School
Each Sunday, children who are three years old through 5th grade are invited to Sunday School which takes place between our Sunday morning worship services, from 10:10-10:50 am. Sunday School classes are arranged by age/grade and all classes spend time learning through a story, craft and/or activity. The curriculum is designed for a variety of learning styles to help children experience the Bible in ways they can understand.
Toddlers (18 months to 2 yrs) meet in the Nursery on Sunday mornings, but also participate in Sunday School activities. These include a Bible Story, an active game, a snack, arts and crafts, and songs of praise.
Wednesday Word Kids
During special multi-week sessions throughout the school year, Bible Study for children is offered for children. These programs provide an age-appropriate, interactive study of God’s word through music, games, crafts, and fellowship.
Funtastic Fridays
Kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade enjoy 2 hours of gym games, relay races, dodge ball and pizza with friends. All leaders are Ministry Safe trained and background checked. Only $5 per child. Kids must wear athletic shoes. Sign up here to received texts about Funtastic Friday.
Acolytes
Being an acolyte is a wonderful way for children to serve their church. This important part of the worship service is an opportunity for 3rd graders and up to participate in the worship service. To become an acolyte, the child will attend a brief training when they are ready to serve.
Children’s Church
During 11:00 service, Children begin worship with their parents and go down to the Lions and Bears Children’s Chapels after the Children’s Moment. They have their own Worship using all their senses with music, a Bible lesson, craft and games. Pick up is after the 11:00 service.
Lions (3 years old – K)
Bears (1st – 5th grade)
